Homemade Roles
 

Homemade Roles events are held at the headquarters of the Missionaries for America Program in Paragould, Arkansas. Young women learn to quilt, bake bread, care for children and other skills needed to be a homemaker. Young men learn to fix a sink, change a tire, teach a family devotional and other skills needed to be a provider. Every day includes work, play and inspirational classes. The greatest mission field in the world is the home. To be an effective missionary to America, it is first necessary to be a missionary in the home.  The cost for this event is $95 per person. This fee covers housing, meals, books and a t-shirt. Young people who wish to participate but cannot afford this fee should contact us for other options. Make out checks to M.A.P. 

Given the nature of this retreat, only a limited number of young people will be selected. Participants must be at least 12 years old. Young people wishing to participate should complete the application and send it along with a letter explaining why they wish to be selected and a letter of recommendation from a parent or guardian. To submit your application (which includes the parental consent form), simply click on the M.A.P. Application page and follow the instructions there. We must receive all the items listed above before May 1.

M.A.P. Summer Team


Each year, we assemble a summer M.A.P. Team. The team comes together during the last two weeks of June. The cost is $350 per person. This cost includes all meals, lodging, a t-shirt and other supplies needed for classes.


To submit your application, simply click on the M.A.P. Application page and follow the instructions there. We must receive your application, parental consent form and registration fee before May 1. Space is limited, so apply early and pray hard!

A Month of M.A.P.


June is easily our busiest month of the year.  During the first week, we host the Homemade Roles Retreat in Paragould.  The second week takes us to Woodland Bible Camp in Dugger, IN.  During the last two weeks of June, we host the M.A.P. Summer Training Course in Paragould, AR.  Each year, many ask to attend all of these events and spend the entire month of with us.  The cost to attend “A Month of M.A.P.” is $600.  This amount covers all event fees and additional expenses incurred to feed, house and transport the young people between events.


As with the Homemade Roles Retreat and the summer M.A.P. Summer Training Course, interested young people must apply in order to be selected for “A Month of M.A.P.”  Applicants will also need to complete all the other necessary forms associated with each of the events held during the month of June.
 

M.A.P. is not a rehabilitation program and only those demonstrating an obvious desire to grow spiritually will be selected.  To that end, all those wishing to participate in “A Month of M.A.P.”  will need to read the material entitled “To Heaven For Sure!” on sonnychilds.com and pass the test.  Completion of this Bible study is part of the application process.  Applicants not having access to the internet should call or write to our office for a free study guide.

All paper work and the “To Heaven For Sure!” test must be completed and mailed to us no later than May 1.

The MAPster

The best description of this event is taken from the letters that form its name.  “M.A.P.” stands for Missionaries for America Program.  The “s” stands for survival, the “t” stands for training, the “e” stands for experience and the “r” stands for readiness.  It is the purpose of this event to enable missionaries to continue their work for the Lord even when persecution removes their conveniences.  Participants receive information and experience to help them to survive “outdoor living” and even turn it into an evangelistic opportunity.

God promises in 2 Timothy 3:12 that “all who desire to live godly in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution.” (NKJV)  He also tells us to “Be self-controlled and alert.” (1 Peter 5:8, NIV)  Persecution is mounting but it need not distract us from the saving of souls.  Let’s be alert and be prepared.

The cost of $75 per person includes all meals, a t-shirt and other supplies needed for classes. Participants should bring a Bible, sleeping bag, comfortable hiking shoes and toiletries. 
 
Applicants should return the registration form and fee before October 1.  Space is limited.

M.A.P. Retreat


The Missionaries for America Program holds a retreat each year in Paragould, Arkansas. The cost of $75 per person includes all meals, lodging, a t-shirt and other supplies needed for classes.  The M.A.P. Retreat is for anyone who is interested in M.A.P., whether becoming a team member, team sponsor or a donor. This year's retreat will be held at the Crowley's Ridge Youth Camp on December 28 - January 1. They have the facilities to house up to 100 people plus a mess hall large enough for our gatherings.


If you are interested in participating in this year's retreat, please go to the M.A.P. Application page and print a copy of the form. Fill it out completely and mail it to us. It's that simple. If you know of anyone else who may be interested, please make a copy for them also. If you are unable to print the registration form, please click here to request a M.A.P. Retreat Application.
